Myakka River State Park

Myakka River State Park is one of Florida's oldest and largest state parks. The "Florida Wild and Scenic Myakka River" flows through 45 square miles of wetlands, prairies and woodlands. Myakka is popular for hiking, fishing, camping, and wildlife observation. The Bird Interpreters program, 9 a.m.- 1 p.m., Mon.-Fri. Volunteer Bird Interpreters will be stationed at bird viewing locations where they will share their spotting scopes, field guides and knowledge with visitors. Admission: $5 park entrance fee per vehicle up to 8 people. The park is open everyday, 8:00 AM until Sunset. 941-361-6511
